June 1, 2018, Halyard Health, Inc. - which was incorporated in Delaware on February 25, 2014 for the purpose of holding Kimberly-Clark’s health care business following the distribution - announced the business’ rebranding to Avanos Medical, Inc. ("Avanos"). The name change became effective June 30, 2018.
Derived from the words "advanced" and "innovation," the name and brand emphasize the company's focus on innovating with speed to deliver better, more sustainable patient outcomes.
Halyard Health changed its name to Avanos Medical, Inc., effective June 30, 2018. Its previous ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange (HYH) also changed at that time to AVNS. The first day of trading under the AVNS ticker symbol was July 2, 2018.
